Ilona BELLE
As an exchange student in Canada, I always wanted to visit Montreal. I found the perfect opportunity to go there. I went there for the second time (if we count my arrival on Ottawa by the airport of Montreal) during the reading week of October 2022.
I stayed there for a few days. The weather was good, it was the end of the Indian spring season. Being a fan of the local cuisine and culture, I present you my top 4 restaurants that I loved :

THE ESSENTIAL : SCHWARTZ' DELI
Knowing pretty well the Schwartz restaurants in Paris, I always wanted to go to the one in Montreal (maybe the main reason of my stay there haha...).
There, you can either take away (the quickest way; next to the main restaurant), or on the spot in the mythical restaurant.
Of course, not wanting to do things by halves, I ate on the counter the famous smoked meat sandwich with a plate of fries and a black cherry soda. I didn't have to wait in line very long to get in and the service was very fast!
It was worth it!

THE BAGELS
When you think of Montreal, you think of smoked meat and bagels!
During my trip to Montreal, I had to eat real bagels! So, I went to the St-Viateur bakery to buy some bagels to taste them :)
After a few minutes of waiting in line and seeing people with bags full of bagels, I was finally able to buy some. I kept it simple : one with poppy seeds and one with onions (to remind me of the Pretzels my family and I buy in the Marais district in Paris).
And I loved it! They were so good, I recommend!

TIME TO RELAX AT A COFFEE SHOP
After a long walk, what could be better than a good coffee in the Old Montreal?
A friend of mine recommended Tommy Café for brunch. Wanting to try as many restaurants in Montreal as possible, I just stopped there for a hot chocolate while I was working on my classes.
And I was not disappointed! It's a pretty, simple and nice place where many people meet to exchange a coffee or to work.

A LITTLE HUNGRY ?
I think it's one of the best known pastry chains in Canada : BeaverTails.
I hadn't tried it yet in Ottawa, I was a little hungry, I went by the store and you know what happens next !
I tasted the Brwownie and frankly, it was not bad at all! The pastry is quite big and fills the belly well. Can't wait to try the one at Reese's...
